GreenID and VSEA is organizing the Renewable Energy Week 2020 with the theme: “Breakthrough to Recovery and Green development for a peaceful life” from 25 to 28 August 2020 in Person and Online via Zoom.

The Renewable Energy Week Program is an annual event initiated by GreenID and the Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance (VSEA) in 2016 with an effort to contribute to the transition to clean energy in Vietnam. After 4 years, the program has become a forum for stakeholders from central to the local level and people in the community to interact, exchange, and contribute initiatives, ideas, actions and proposals for sustainable energy development in Vietnam.

The year 2020 is a memorable milestone for all of humanity. The increasingly dire effects of climate change and the dire consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic are prompting us to transform the BREAKTHROUGH of thinking and action towards a low-carbon economy. In that context, the Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance, in collaboration with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and its partners, organizes the Renewable Energy Week 2020 titled “Breakthrough to Recovery and Green development for a peaceful life”. The program was organized to encourage stakeholders to discuss and provide recommendations for the implementation of Resolution 55-NQ / TW dated 11/02/2020 of the Politburo and Power Development Planning VIII which is under development by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be submitted to the Government in the next few months.

The REW will concentrate on the following topics:

• Update progress on clean energy transition in the world and in Vietnam;
• Discuss challenges and barriers to clean energy development in Vietnam and localities;
• Emphasize the advantages, opportunities, and benefits of sustainable energy development for energy security, investment attraction, job creation, green economic recovery and growth
• Proposing breakthrough solutions and initiatives to promote fair and sustainable clean energy in Vietnam.

The REW 2020 will take place on 25^th and 28^th August 2020 at Melia Hanoi Hotel, 44 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi with limited seats to ensure the social distance during the COVID pandemic, meeting in person is restricted.
